Is Revanth Reddy favorable to Telugu film industry: Telangana is always being the state with a larger audience and more theatres, contributes about 40 per cent of a Telugu cinema revenue. After the bifurcation of Telugu states, KCR assured Tollywood celebrities that the Telangana govt will offer all kinds of support to the Film actors and artists. During the first govt of formation of Telangana, lead by KCR, many new artists from Telangana started getting the opportunities in Tollywood as Heroes, technicians, jr artists and others. KCR also requested Tollywood celebrities in many of the gatherings to stop showcasing the Telangana culture in a comedy manner. This issue has been addressed by KCR in several ocassions that Telangana culture has been degraded by Telugu writers and directors and requested to stop doing this. Eventually after KCR become the CM, it has been stopped. Moreover, we can see many of the good films coming up with Telangana culture, example are Pellichoopulu, Balagam and others.
KCR mantained very close and comfortable relation with Telugu stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Pawan Kalyan and others while KTR used to maintain very close friendship with actors like Ramcharan and Mahesh Babu. Due to of the strong bonding with Tollywood, KCR always used to welcome some of the requests from Filmmakers like exemption of Taxes, hiking of ticket prices and also approval for early shows to the movies in Telangana state. For example movies like Rudramadevi, Gautamiputra Sathakarni and others got tax exemption in Telangana just with a small request. So, On a positive note, Telangana government has been supporting the Telugu film industry since last ten years without any negotiations.
Now the question is How Congress and Revanth Reddy assure the same for the Telugu film industry for the next 5 years.
We all know Revanth Reddy has criticized several celebrities from Tollywood linking them with KTR and also in 2016 Revanth seeks action on Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention Centre, claiming that Function hall was contructed after occupying several acres for free. In addition to this, Revanth Reddy made sensational Comments On Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggupati and KTR during the Tollywood Drug Case.
As Telangana is now going to see Revanth Reddy as the new CM it could be a tough time for some of the Tollywood celebrities, based on his previous encounters with the Telugu film industry. However, in a respectable position, we can expect Revanth would be maintaining good relation with the Telugu film industry without bothering them like other Telugu state CM.
